Hello

Dear Parents and Guardians:

My name is Ashley Williamson and I am going to be the teacher in your child’s class this school year. I am a recent graduate from the University of Delaware with a degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. I also meet the highly qualified teaching standards for the states of Maryland and Delaware. Every month I send home a newsletter that contains information on what books we will be reading, important news, classroom events, and an article on child development. I also request that each student has a composition book to use for homework assignments. If your child previously brought one in to their old classroom then I have that book and there is no need to get another one.

I understand that the switch from one classroom to another may be difficult, and my goal is to make the transition as smooth as possible. For the past five days I have been in each kindergarten classroom getting to know every child so that they become more familiar and comfortable with me.. I want your child to have a fun and successful time this school year. I have listed the school’s phone number at the bottom of this letter as well as my e-mail address in case you need get a hold of me.  Please feel free to contact me if there are situations that need to be discussed.  The best times to reach me by phone at school are from 8:00a.m. -9:15a.m. and 3:30p.m. -3:45p.m.  I am always willing to talk anytime! I am looking forward to teaching your child this year and to developing a relationship with you.

Sincerely,

Ashley Williamson
